Can I be terminated if I am ill?

Sickness is no protection against termination. Even if you are ill, your employer can give you notice. However, the normal rules on protection against termination still apply: If you have worked for more than 6 months in a company with more than 10 full-time employees, you are protected against termination and your employer needs a reason to terminate you.
