    Arbitration procedure

    The Federal Government Commissioner for the Interests of Persons with Disabilities has an arbitration service pursuant to Section 16 of the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities. The arbitration service has the task of resolving conflicts between people with disabilities and federal public bodies.

    You can call on the arbitration service if you are not satisfied with the response that you have received from the above-mentioned contact. This is not about finding winners or losers. Rather, the aim is to jointly arrive at a solution to a problem out of court with the help of the arbitration service.

    The arbitration procedure is free of charge. Nor do you need any legal representation.

    You will find full information on the arbitration procedure on the arbitration service’s website. There you can read about how the arbitration procedure works and how to submit a request for arbitration. You can also submit the application in simple language or in German sign language.
